SHIELD Academy
Open House
Everyone is congregated in the spacious auditorium of the SHIELD Academy. The noise level is probably a decibel below deafening and the lights are probably a little dimmer than what might seem normal for this time in the evening, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone as they just carry on. There are banners strewn about welcoming all first years to a new chapter in their lives while others welcome the others back for another year at the Academy. Refreshments are served up on stage while other tables set up around the massive room are home to pamphlets and flyers for clubs and classes. Special electives and advertisements for training sessions are also littered amongst the tables.

Make a few friends, find old ones, look into clubs that catch your interest. This is open house for all returning students and prospective students, so hang out, hit up others and just mingle!

[This girl is way too excited to be here. That's all Loki can think as he watches her buzz back and forth like a human-sized honey bee. This was someone that needed Tommy's speed mutation.

About the third time she passed by him and said a quick greeting, which she seemed to be doing to everyone she came across, he held out a hand to stop her. He didn't normally partake in the human 'handshake' custom, but if it would slow the busy little bee down for a moment, he could make the minor sacrifice.]

Loki. And the fair maiden of speed is...? [In other words, chill and chat for a second!]

[She almost collides with said hand, the action breaking her rhythm. She gives him a sheepish smile at his words, giving him hand a small shake.]

Darcy. Sorry, I'm just trying to make sure I don't miss anything.

[He smiled and motioned to the refreshment table. Yeah, he still hadn't been able to spike the punch. The damn guidance counsellor had been watching him like a hawk since his presence was made. To be fair, he could just... cloak himself, but where was the fun in that?]

You have a whole year, Miss Darcy, and then some, I'm sure. Take your time. What year does the lovely honey bee call her home room?

[Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, her eyes follow his motion. She slowly starts to make her way over to it, eyeing the bowl cautiously.

She looks up at him, giving a small laugh at the miss followed by the honey bee comment. She's fairly certain her cheeks are turning a nice shade of pink, instantly regretting moving her hair out of her face.]

I'm uh, I'm a first year. What about you?
