SHIELD Academy
Open House
Everyone is congregated in the spacious auditorium of the SHIELD Academy. The noise level is probably a decibel below deafening and the lights are probably a little dimmer than what might seem normal for this time in the evening, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone as they just carry on. There are banners strewn about welcoming all first years to a new chapter in their lives while others welcome the others back for another year at the Academy. Refreshments are served up on stage while other tables set up around the massive room are home to pamphlets and flyers for clubs and classes. Special electives and advertisements for training sessions are also littered amongst the tables.

Make a few friends, find old ones, look into clubs that catch your interest. This is open house for all returning students and prospective students, so hang out, hit up others and just mingle!

While she's eating, another redhead who would rather go out than study slides into the chair next to her. You wouldn't really call them bosom buddies, but friendly enough. Enough at least to nudge her shoulder and steal a cracker off Natasha's plate.

Or maybe MJ just doesn't care much about social boundaries after at least one conversation with someone.

"Any new cute guys?"

Natasha doesn't mind in the least and she's laughing as MJ steals a cracker from her plate, bumping her shoulder back with a grin.

"Hey you, welcome back. And of course, there's always at least one or two. Of course, if there's anything more interesting to them than just looks remains to be seen. It's not like we're lacking for the pretty around here." She glances over with a teasing wink. "Why, you looking?"

She's shrugging like yeah maybe she is, what about it. "It's just so hard to find someone that's pretty to look at that's not a total nutjob."

Though really, MJ, kind of looking in the wrong place for that given the student base.

"Or taken. Or gay."

The last one has Natasha laughing as she grins at the other girl. "I dunno, sometimes they're bi. And that could be a lot of fun," she points out with a wicked look and a wink, teasing her because she can. "And not all the pretty ones are nutjobs. I thought we had an impressive lack of nutjobs here, actually. Who have I missed?"

There's no nice way to say it, given the nature of their school but sometimes MJ just wants a normal guy. You know, minus the superpowers or being an alien or just having an IQ that's twice hers. Because she wants to be the one who shines in the relationship, how messed up is that.

"Yeah? Then which ones have you dated recently."

Natasha wrinkles her nose and waves a hand dismissively. "No one since last year. And I wanted to start fresh anyway, so no one seriously. Besides I'm not really looking for anything serious. I like just hanging out and fooling around. Dating just seems so involved and complicated."
