SHIELD Academy
Open House
Everyone is congregated in the spacious auditorium of the SHIELD Academy. The noise level is probably a decibel below deafening and the lights are probably a little dimmer than what might seem normal for this time in the evening, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone as they just carry on. There are banners strewn about welcoming all first years to a new chapter in their lives while others welcome the others back for another year at the Academy. Refreshments are served up on stage while other tables set up around the massive room are home to pamphlets and flyers for clubs and classes. Special electives and advertisements for training sessions are also littered amongst the tables.

Make a few friends, find old ones, look into clubs that catch your interest. This is open house for all returning students and prospective students, so hang out, hit up others and just mingle!

I remember differently.

[ Natasha pops up at his side out of nowhere, having just gotten back into the room after escaping the crowds for a little bit. Even she can only take so much socializing at a time. She grins at him impishly. ]

I seem to recall you being pretty clueless your first day here.

[ As Natasha slides up and tries to shoot him right down, Johnny can't help but raise an eyebrow. ]

Look who decided to make an appearance. If you're showin' just to spread rumors, you might wanna start with one everyone's gonna believe.

[ And he offers her his best smile to punctuate his point. ]

[ She makes a point of glancing around them, where they're standing on their own with no one around. ]

No one to bluff with all the interesting stuff at the moment, you'll have to put up with the truth instead, I'm afraid. [ It has her grinning at him though, and then bumping her shoulder against his in greeting, then holding her hand out, wiggling her fingers as she gives his licorice a pointed look. ] You better have saved one for me.

[ Not that she smoked. She just had a bit of a sweet tooth. ]

[johnnyblake]

[ It's an entirely put-upon sigh that escapes him with the shoulder-bump, but he's a good sport, so he stands and tugs a half-finished packet of Twizzlers from his back pocket. ]

So needy. [ But he's too amused and he can't help but bump her back. ] Just don't tell anyone, 'cause then everyone comes askin', and I'm not interested in sharing. Other'n you, of course. [ Cue a cheeky curtsy. ]

[spiderette]

Why would I tell anyone? [ She plucks a strand of licorice from the package with a smirk and pops one end in her mouth. ] This way there's more for me to snitch off you. I'm greedy as well as needy.

[ Which has her grinning at him fondly. ] So. Now's when you tell me how much you missed me and how your summer was empty and barren without me around to keep your life interesting.

[johnnyblake]

And there's the needy. [ But Johnny's not the least bit perturbed. In fact, he reaches out and snakes a hand into her hair so he can press their foreheads together. ] Missed you, fool. You coulda come to visit, y'know.

[ Being orphaned and a ward of the state, he doesn't have anywhere else to go but the dorm here at the school, and he can't exactly afford any of the summer programs like some of the other kids.

Before letting her go, he removes his licorice stick and gives her a big old kiss on the forehead. ]

Be skippin' town if I didn't see you here, honestly.

[spiderette]

If my dad wouldn't have a heart attack at the the thought of me alone on public transport, I totally would have come and visited. [ She grins as she leans into him, twining one arm around his waist as she curls into his hold, even though she might make a face at him for the kiss he drops on her forehead. ]

No skipping town allowed. I'm too needy for that too. I'd have to find you and drag you back by your ear. Unpleasant for both of us.

[johnnyblake]

[ He's missed this. Even the kiss plays off like a joke, but goddamn are there days Blake would burn the world if it weren't for Romanoff's calming presence to keep him grounded. Trying very hard to avoid looking too fond — she'll see right through him, anyway — Johnny snickers. ]

You would do that, wouldn't you? A'right, no skippin' town. Not 'til graduation.

[ And then he'll likely head back to Gotham. Home is where the heart is, right? At least, that's what he think, but SHIELD Academy might have a different suggestion come that time. ]

[ Or she might just keep him. Natasha's home for wayward strays. And hooligans. Both of which he qualifies for.

She just grins at him, leaning comfortably against his side as she tilts her head back to peer up at him. ]

By the way, I don't suppose you peeked at the rooming assignments yet, did you?

[johnnyblake]

Shit, those're up already? Guess this really is happenin'. [ Blake slips from his spot, tugging Romanoff away from their quiet little spot on his way toward room assignments. ]

Why's it always so hard to believe summer's over? [ He huffs and scuffs at the ground in those battered Chuck Taylor's not ready to admit school's starting all over again.

When he comes to a stop in front of the list, it only takes a moment to skim for their names. He rolls his eyes. ] Coulson? Really? Fuck, there goes all our fun...

[ She lets herself be tugged along, because she for one is rather pleased with the roommate assignments, as well as being back at school. She doesn't mind it s much as some. She laughs at his comment and playfully punches him in the shoulder. ]

Oh, he's not that bad. You might be surprised, he occasionally has a rather wicked sense of humor. At least sarcasm is never lost on him. Besides, maybe you and I can be bad influences on him, get him to loosen up a bit. I'm just relieved I'm not with psychic-chic again. That got more than a little creepy last year.

[johnnyblake]

[ He makes a face at the punch, but he's not at all displeased with a little horseplay, especially since she's generally merciless. ]

A'right, a'right, we'll give the guy a chance. But only 'cause I got lucky enough to get a place with my best buddy, my pal, the hottest redhead in town.

[ Honestly, he can't complain about much after that victory, especially after traveling between dorms to see each other in the last year. ]

And you don't even have to live on my couch this time to do it.

[ Frankly, she's pretty delighted, even if whoever was in charge of rooming assignments is probably going to regret this oversight in the worst way. ]

And don't you forget it, either. New ones keep popping up to challenge me for that title.
