SHIELD Academy
Open House
Everyone is congregated in the spacious auditorium of the SHIELD Academy. The noise level is probably a decibel below deafening and the lights are probably a little dimmer than what might seem normal for this time in the evening, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone as they just carry on. There are banners strewn about welcoming all first years to a new chapter in their lives while others welcome the others back for another year at the Academy. Refreshments are served up on stage while other tables set up around the massive room are home to pamphlets and flyers for clubs and classes. Special electives and advertisements for training sessions are also littered amongst the tables.

Make a few friends, find old ones, look into clubs that catch your interest. This is open house for all returning students and prospective students, so hang out, hit up others and just mingle!

"... Poland, originally. But I grew up mostly in New York. ... Does it ever stop being so... full of people?" She raised her eyebrows, indicating the bustling auditorium, and it's continual ebb and flow of bodies.

"I grew up in New York too," Billy said, it was always exciting to meet a fellow New Yorker. "Not really? But we do kinda of tend to spread out when school actually starts so it feels a little less full."

She nods, accepting. "... That'll be better. There's just-- so many people right here.

"Is the school... easy? Or is it.. I've never gone to school before. I'm not sure what to expect."

"Really?" Billy asks surprised and intrigued all at once. "It's really not too bad, some classes are harder than others, but the professors are helpful. And I'm around if you need anything, I'm pretty good in my classes. You should think about joining a club, getting involved. It might sound a bit cliche but it definitely helps around here."

[maximoff_girl]

"Yeah...? I heard there was-- at least one club I'd like. Small numbers. ...I think I'd prefer that to full on classrooms." she shrugs a little, disappointed in herself, as she takes a sip from the punch he brought her.

"Which club?" He asked curiously, he's too inquisitive for his own good sometimes.

It's ok. Inquisitive people help Wanda feel better about talking. "... The-- magic club? I don't know if it had an official name or something, but that was the-- point of it." She watches him closely for a reaction. She's used to negative reactions to her magic, even in concept.

Billy's whole face lights up when she mentions his club. "That's my club, well I mean, I founded it, back in my first year here. You're interested in magic then?"

"Magic is my life!" She enthuses back, reflecting his own excitement back as she sees him react enthusiastically.

"... I mean. That's... all I've ever learned. In the past." She tries to rein it back in, though she's having a hard time hiding her excitement.

Well that got a reaction out of her. "Mine too, well mostly my life, it's my mutation, see." He holds up his hands letting his power flow into them, glowing blue.

Well that will get a reaction out of her. Her eyes go wide at his power display, which looks to her to be the exact same as her own.

Eyes still as wide as dinner plates, she wordlessly holds up her own hands, her hex aura igniting as she does, mirroring his gesture.

Now Billy's eyes are wide. "I've never seen anyone else's so similar to mine." He reaches forward letting his magic touch hers, hesitantly.

[When their magic touches, it's like a tuning fork goes off in Wanda's brain. His magic feels like an old friend she'd never realized she was missing. It resonates in her in a weird way she has a hard time naming, but feels-- right. To her, at least.]

Oh... wow... Me either... [She manages to mumble, though she's not really paying attention to that, so much as she is the way their magic just merged, like two lit candles wicks coming together to create one flame. She finds it intensely fascinating.]

Billy stares fascinated by the way his magic twists up and merges with Wanda's, as if it's found it's match, it's twin. Could Wanda be another long lost relative he's never known about, like Tommy?

"This is amazing," and it felt amazing, rightness just resonating in him.

"I've... never..." Wanda has completely forgotten where they are, and that maybe this sort of power display is best saved for some other time or place. She wants to just sit down and study the whirling patterns and feelings and just-- yeah.

She 'pushes' a bit more, willing her hex aura to become larger, wanting, hoping his mimics hers. She has no real thought as to why she's doing this, other perhaps than if the small one is this amazing, what might a larger one feel like?

Billy is about to follow her lead when it occurs to him that they are in the middle of the auditorium and they are drawing a bit of a crowd. He pulls his magic back reluctantly. "Uh, people are kind of staring,"

Wanda tries to not let it show, but she is disappointed by the retreat of his magic. Her own follows suite, almost instinctively, until she extinguishes her hex aura all together, glancing at those who have chosen to stare around them.

"... Pietro said that we wouldn't have to hide our powers here."

"We don't," Billy promises, noticing the look on her face. He lets a small blue glow return to his hand to prove his point. "I just don't now what mixing our magic will do, and I've been know to blow things up accidentally from time to time. I'd rather not blow the auditorium up on our first day back." He grinned at Wanda. "We are definitely going to explore this more though."

"Oh. Right." She smiled, abashedly. "I... blow things up, too. So. Yeah. Right! ... Definitely!"

"Oh we're going to get along great," he grinned at her.
