"Yeah, no totally. I just, y'know..." He muttered, because yes, she really could be pretty bad ass when she wanted to be. But it was just ingrained in his personality to protect. That and if even one dart made it to her, he'd hate himself for not helping.

Her touch made him smile, and honestly, the mark was gone by the time she lifted her hand away. But he didn't want to admit that his vision was just a bit hazy after the dose of the drug. It would have dropped him if he'd still been human, so he was fortunate that he wasn't anymore.

"Yep. Good idea." He agreed, dodging to the side, bringing her with him with an arm around her waist as the nearest turret fired off a small volley of electric rounds. The zapping sizzle as they struck a tree gave them away. "And they seem to identify us pretty fast and can immediately switch between rounds, so... yeah." He let his arm slide free from her waist and took off after the nearest turret, dodging low and coming up to knock it clean off the tripod, shaking his hand afterwards. "Um... where aren't there any weaponised defences?"
