SHIELD Academy
Open House
Everyone is congregated in the spacious auditorium of the SHIELD Academy. The noise level is probably a decibel below deafening and the lights are probably a little dimmer than what might seem normal for this time in the evening, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone as they just carry on. There are banners strewn about welcoming all first years to a new chapter in their lives while others welcome the others back for another year at the Academy. Refreshments are served up on stage while other tables set up around the massive room are home to pamphlets and flyers for clubs and classes. Special electives and advertisements for training sessions are also littered amongst the tables.

Make a few friends, find old ones, look into clubs that catch your interest. This is open house for all returning students and prospective students, so hang out, hit up others and just mingle!

To be fair, Scott hadn't been paying much attention to where he'd been going either. He was a bit disoriented and entirely overwhelmed. Sensory overload to the extreme. So when Kevin turned and ran right into him, he stumbled a bit and blinked at the other teen in confusion at first. As soon as his mind caught up, he stammered.

"N-no, sorry! It was probably my fault." He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Yeah, it is kinda dark in here." He agreed, though his eyes had already adjusted thanks to his supernatural senses.

Well, at least he seems nice and isn't shouting at Kevin or shoving him. Probably best to make a friend while he can, before it's too late. He smiles, trying to seem confident.

"My name's Kevin. Um, it's my first year here. I just transferred."

"I'm Scott." He smiles right back, ever-friendly. "I'm actually pretty new too. I--well, my old school wasn't quite working out, so yeah. Here I am." Honestly, that made him sound like some kind of delinquent and he mentally kicks himself for it. "N-nothing bad or anything! I got a recommendation here because of stuff that happened. I... yeah, I'm gonna stop before I make myself sound even worse. But it's nice to meet you!"

"So, where'd you transfer from?"

Yes, that does make Scott sound like a delinquent, but the fact that he keeps tripping over his words like that reassures Kevin that Scott's probably pretty harmless, or at least that's how he is normally. Or that's what he wants to project. Anyway, Kevin finds himself smiling at him because he's pretty charming.

"A regular school, I guess you'd call it. Some stuff happened and we got recommended, too. We meaning my brother and I." That's a nice way of putting it considering Sam had the choice of either jail or here, and Kevin had been his accessory, but breaking into top secret records is different from dangerous crime, right? Right.

"So, um... What kinds of things do they have you do at this school? Do you know?"
